Baroque Christmas Music

Last concert of the year of the Baroque Orchestra of Tenerife at the Tenerife Auditorium.

The Cantata is one of the musical forms that best represent the Baroque sound laboratory. In front of the Sonata, of instrumental flow full of tonal arguments and artificial discourse, especially on violinistic scales, the Cantata developed, in all possible vocal testaments, in the heat of the colorful accompaniment, a new way of understanding texts and poetry as never before in the History of Music.

At the same time as the Opera and the Oratory, and from its beginnings in the 17th century, it was enriching the repertoire of all Europe until it reached its fullness in the first years of the 18th century, entering the late Baroque with the beautiful and resolute compositions by D. Buxthuede, GP Telemann and JS Bach.
