Walk through the heights. Recreation of bartering
An ethnographic rescue activity which shows how people walked alongthe paths and tracks of the Canaries until the middle of the 20th century. Over 50individuals take part, demonstrating various jobs and activities that are now no longerpracticed. They use tools, farming implements, beasts of burden and are attired in theclothes which would have been current during the times they are representing. The recreation is repeated three times on the same day, in three different boroughs. At the end of the last staging, a bartering scene is acted out in Santiago del Teide, an interchange of merchandise where no cash changes hands, something that was common in this era.
