Visit of Juan Sebastián Elcano

The school ship of the Spanish Navy Juan Sebastián Elcano returns to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The berth is scheduled for Friday, January 18, and will remain in the port of Santa Cruz until Monday 21.

The ship will make an international route for the formation of its crew with stops in: Puerto Rico, Cartagena de Indias, Veracruz, Pensacola (USA), Havana, Boston, Lisbon, Gydnia (Poland), Kiel (Germany), Guetaria and Getxo. The stopover in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the first such route.

The ship made its launch in 1927 and was baptized with the name of the explorer Juan Sebastián Elcano who completed the first round the world in 1522.
