Nel corso di più di trentun anni, il Festival di Musica delle Canarie è riuscito a diventare un riferimento internazionale nel mondo dei festival di musica classica, sia per la sua elevata qualità artistica, sia per la sua particolarità di essere il primo evento che inaugura l'attività musicale in Europa, dato che si svolge nei mesi di gennaio e febbraio. Diventa così l'unico del suo genere che si tiene in inverno, ma un inverno che rispetto al resto d'Europa e grazie al clima favorevole della nostra terra in realtà è una grata primavera.
La diversità geografica delle Canarie e la circostanza che la musica è presente in tutto l'arcipelago è un altro degli elementi caratteristici che provocano sempre una grande ammirazione sia tra il pubblico sia tra gli artisti che ci visitano e rendono unico il nostro Festival.
We were very excited to design an interesting proposal for the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL OF THE CANARY ISLANDS FIMC - 2019. We wanted a program that contributed to unforgettable moments: the farewell of a musician who for decades has been a world reference in his instrument, the reunion with performers and orchestras of great international stature, the première of masters, formations and soloists that for some reason - perhaps due to the complexity of their schedules - have never been to the Islands. We were very excited to be able to program symphonic-choral works, concert operas, performances by canarian musicians. We wanted to expand the showcase of the Festival with an endless number of extraordinary creators and tried to plan meetings of great musicians with young canarian students ... If not enough, we sought the definitive support of those who believe in us.
