La Orotava
Given its importance as a native settlement, it is unsurprising to find such an abundance of archaeological remains in the borough: burial caves like Roque Blanco and Barranco de la Arena, and sites at Playa del Bollullo, Tigaiga, Montaña de los Pinos, etc.
The whole of La Orotava, especially the older quarter, is a very special site of cultural interest: the church of La Concepción contains important works of art, as does the parish church of San Juan Bautista del Farrobo. Other important sites include the church and convent of San Agustín, the church of Santo Domingo (formerly San Benito), the church of San Francisco, and civil buildings like the Casas de los Balcones, the Casa de Mesa, Casa de Molina, Casa de Ponte-Fonte, Monteverde, Ascanio Monteverde (Liceo Taoro), etc. (These are family mansions described in greater detail in the section on historic buildings).
The Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Plaza de la Constitución are also beautiful.
