The borough's coastal districts - Las Galletas - enjoy a reputation for excellent fish. Los -Cristianos used to be a small fishing village, but is now the nucleus of a booming holiday centre, although it has managed to conserve its original atmosphere.

It has an extensive traffic-free, pedestrian precinct, which is always buzzing with cosmopolitan life.
