San Miguel de Abona

The borough of San Miguel de Abona played a leading role in the success of the tourist industry in the south of Tenerife, in the resorts of Arona, Adeje and Granadilla. The Centinela and El Frontón look out points are worth a visit for the panoramic views of the boroughs of Arona, San Miguel and Granadilla. There are several places in La Aldea and Las Zocas that make the traditional dishes of rabbit with "salmorejo" sauce and "jarea asada" - roast strips of dried and salted fish.

A festival in honour of San Juan Bautista is held on 24th of June, and the festival for the Patron Saint, San Miguel de Arcángel, is held on the 29th of September.
