Realejos, Los
In the shadow of the high mountain range formed by the slopes of Cañadas del Teide, you find the town of Los Realejos, a town that has grown and become more important in recent years. The borough was originally an important farming area, it is covered with banana plantations, but nowadays it has become an extension of the Puerto de la Cruz holiday resort and it now has top quality hotels and apartment complexes. The church of La Concepciónj has a magnificent Baroque reredos and a baptismal font made of jasper. The town is also the site of the island's oldest church; the parish church of Santiago, built in 1498.
There is a beautiful black sand beach - Socorro - on the coast of Los Realejos, and some beautiful scenery around it, such as the Rambla de Castro.
