Santiago del Teide

A large number of pre-Hispanic remains are conserved in the borough: El Retamar, Arguayo, Puerto de Santiago, Montaña de Samara, Tamaimo, Andén del Ramo, Montaña de Guama, La Cabezada, Chimayache, El Roque, Los Quemados, etc. are all sites where settlements, burial caves and other objects of Guanche civilisation have been found.

The parish church of San Fernando is also quite striking; the hemispherical domes are the result of alterations done this century, along with the alterations done to other parts of the church. The church possesses some fine pieces of art.

Arguayo is important for its pottery and, in Santiago, you must visit the Casa del Patio and Lagares, an 17th century stately home.
