Guía de Isora
Tel.: 922 853 002 The parish church, devoted to La Virgen de la Luz, that used to be another church, was completely restored at the end of the last century. It has a three-nave layout, with traditional structure and Mudejar type moulded ceilings. Of the seven reredos it has, three are special; the one in the chancel, the one with Christ carrying the Cross and the one of La Virgen del Carmen. The main altar houses the figure of the Patron Saint of the borough: La Virgen de la Luz de Guía, a beautiful carving belonging to the school of Fenando Estévez. It also holds other important sculptures, like El Cristo de la Dulce Muerte, at the head of the gospel nave, anonymous 18th century work from Havana; a canvas of the Ascension and some lovely silver work, like the 18th century, local Baroque style monstrance.
