San Juan de la Rambla
A small sector in the south of the borough forms part of the Teide National Park, encompassing the phonolythic plate of La Fortaleza. As a continuation of the Park, the Corona Forestal Nature Park covers a broad strip of dense pine forest, accompanied by other flora, including many endemic species. It is an area of high environmental value.
The Tigaiga slope basically encompasses the area from the Hondo, or Ruíz, Ravine down to the coast and part of the old cliffs. The deep ravine and high walls are made up of a complex diversity of volcanic materials, with interesting and varied vegetation, rich in endemic species and relicts of laurel forest. The fauna is also of great interest.
There is a recreation area in Ruíz Ravine, at Km. 48.5 of the C-820. There are also interesting natural and recreation areas along the coast.
